“The Turtle” by John Steinbeck Essay
In the short story “The Turtle” by John Steinbeck, he uses description throughout the story. He uses objective, personification, similes, and metaphors through the entire story.
Steinbeck portrays this through a landscape of a turtle crossing the street. He is illustrating the human convenience of courage and persistence. The turtle is known as a metaphor for the farmville farm workers with the depression time. Steinbeck uses this representation because the personnel move almost everything they own on a model T-Ford, and this is their house just like the turtle’s shell.
Steve Steinbeck likewise uses goal description to explain the process of the turtle since it crosses the trail and to illustrate the road by itself, ” The concrete highway was stinging with a pad of twisted, broken, dried out grass”¦the sunlight lay in the”¦embankment [as it] expands stepper and stepper, a concrete 4 inches tall”¦but higher and higher [the turtle] “¦strains”¦the front legs scratched at the pavement, and it [got] up”.
